This was a very special wedding, not only was I shooting my cousins wedding but 8 years ago I photographed her older sisters wedding and it was the very first wedding I had ever shot! I was put in the deep end and it was career changing, literally.

I love what I do and I want to thank my Da Costa family for having given me the oppurtunity 8 years ago to start and now for giving me the oppurtunity to say thank you. I hope you love the photographs as much as I had fun shooting my gorgeous cousins wedding. Jax and Warren you guys are awesome!

Warren and Jackie love the beach and Warren is a surfer. As they got married in the Paarl Winelands they decided to have the trash the dress at the beach and also to include their babies Storm and Sky. It was such an awesome shoot!

You guys are such a gorgeous couple I think everyone at the beach thought the shoot was for a magazine ;-)

I met Jamie and Patricia the day before the wedding for the very first time. They had flown in from Dubai for just 4 days to celebrate their marriage with their closest of family as witnesses.

Patricia got dressed in the beautiful manor house at the Steenberg Hotel. Everyone was very relaxed and Patricia was helped by her gorgeous daughter and best friend.

They had a very intimate ceremony in the gardens, which became very emotional and it was very special being apart of their day.

Thanks Patricia and Jamie for a really wonderful afternoon, you both got to see me get very excited while shooting your pics at the Steenberg Golf course. I hope you love the photographs as much as I did taking them.

Mark & Dez chose Stellenbosch for their engagement shoot because the town is so special to them. They studied in Stellenbosch and they met at a local pub there.

Apparantly to call yourself a true Matie you need to Kiss "in die Laan" (tick, they kissed all over for this shoot) 2. an acorn must fall on your head (tick for Mark and one landed on the roof of Dez's car while driving - I think that counts). 3 you need to fail a subject, I will not confirm or deny LOL.

What I can confirm is that they are wonderful couple and I am soo looking forward to their wedding in March.

I met Anecia quite a long time before her wedding day and it has been so nice to get to know her a little bit over Facebook and seeing her at Bridal shows. She has such a great energy and I knew her wedding was going to be great.

She got dressed at Celtic Manor in Gordons Bay on a perfect day. I have never seen such a chilled bride.
Frikkie and the boys were waiting anxiously at the NG Kerk in Strand and he looked overwhelmed watching her walk down the aisle.

Once he took Anecia's hand it all changed and all was good in their world.

It was so special being part of your day and thank you for making me feel so welcome.

We took the family photographs at the venue, it was my first time at Hoogeind Manor and what a gorgeous venue! I loved it there. The light was perfect, the gardens are really splendid, there were even horses galloping in the fields.

Hanru Coetzee was the vision behind the decor and the running of the day. It was lovely working with you Hanru.

Cape Town Wedding - Eddie & Barbara

I met Barbara a year before her wedding. She was so excited to be marrying Eddie, and she couldn't wait for her wedding day. The countdown was on! The wedding was all about the small details and so much thought was put into their day.

Eddie and Barbara have been together a long time and they looked totally smitten with each other.

Barbara looked gorgeous! Her dress and the bridesmaids dresses were amazing and they were all made by Eddies aunt. I will continue to think of them as Mr. Brown, Miss Pink and Mr.Blue and we did get to take photos in the "Library"

I had such a fun time with the whole party and thank you for making me feel so welcome. If I was not working I would of definitly been on that dance floor. Forest 44 was a great venue for an awesome party. Portguese people sure now how to party !!

Daniel and Jacqui are from Jhb but wanted an intimate wedding at the beach. They couldn't of chosen a better scenery than what the Twelve Apostles Hotel had to offer. Everything was amazing. The weather, the decor from Duke and Duchess and what made it even more special was that their family all made the journey to Ct to share their day with them.

I loved watching the two of them together. They share a special love. Daniel prayed that one day he would meet the perfect women for him, and he couldn't of found a more beautiful lady inside and out.

Andre and Maya had such a fun wedding. They had guests fly in from all over the world. Maya is from Sweden and Andre is South African.They met while working on a cruise ship. They got to travel all over. Pretty romantic. So quite a few of their guests were from the crew. Some coming from Sweden, England, Australia, Portugal and even the Galapagos Islands.

The wedding was held at the beautiful Hidden Valley Estate, in their cellar and the reception later on was full of Swedish traditional suprises. Right down to the guys cutting Andre's socks, blessing him with lots of children.

I am looking forward to hearing the news!

I met Neil and Kirsten the day before their wedding after lots of email correspondence from Australia. Neil and Kirsten were coming to Cape Town to elope. So romantic!

They are such a beautiful couple, the weather, the setting, everything was perfect.
They had canapes at The Twelve Apostles and signed the registry before going down to the beach for their intimate ceremony.

I really enjoyed the shoot. Jo-Anne Stokes assisted me, and we had no reception to rush back to and Kirsten was keen on getting the best photographs possible. We all left very wet and sandy . Even Neils Hugo Boss suit dry cleaned perfectly afterwards ( I heard )

Lizmarie and Gerhard are such a cute couple. I have gotten to know Lizmarie quite well over the last few years and I thought they needed a fun shoot that would describe exactly how they are. They are always laughing and so I thought the ice cream van and colours were just perfect for them. They were awesome and I can't wait for their wedding in April.

PS: The ice cream van is also a really great dessert option for your wedding. Suprise your guests with the music playing and everyone having to go outside and get their soft serve. It will definitly be one of the highlights of the night. Great for summer.

Stefan and Tracy just look at each other and you can see how in love they are with each other.

I left their wedding with a smile on my face. It was such an emotional day.

Tracy's parents are soo proud of her. They teared up when they saw her and her dad had the best speech. He did end it off with some advice to Stefan " Don't try to understand her, just love her"

Tracy wore a beautiful dress by Robyn Roberts and the reception was held at Westlake Golf course. I left while the party was going strong to some excellant music by

"Hey, Mr.DJ" The cake from Charly's bakery was just so yummy, I got to have a piece while I downloaded the photographs when I got home. Mmmm ended off a perfect day.

Ashwin & Megan got married at the beautifully rustic Picardie Guest Farm in Paarl.

We were a little worried about the weather but it held out with some awesome clouds. Megan arrived in a vintage limosine right on time, looking like a princess in her dress that her sister designed for her. After a little mishap... if you decide to get married on a deck over water, make sure you standing on a carpet when you exchange your rings....luckily during the photoshoot there was a hero who managed to fish the ring out of the lake. Once Megan had her engagement ring back on her finger they both relaxed and had a great shoot! thanks to both of you.

Monique and Christo are such a lovely couple. I met them for the first time yesterday to do their engagement shoot. They have been together since high school and are so cute together.

Cuan and Andrea

I had the privledge of photographing one of my oldest friends wedding this weekend.

Andrea and Cuan live in Arizona and they came here to share their special day with their family and friends. A few of their American friends joined them and they all stayed at Le Tafelberg in Oranjezicht. They were all treated to hair and make up by Alicia Buckle and I have never seen Andrea look so radiant and happy.

The ceremony and reception was held at The Silvertree Restaurant in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The ceremony was intimate and the party was rocking.

Carl & Jo-Anne both work at the Westin Grand. Carl who is the head chef noticed Jo learning the ropes. Couldn't keep his eyes off her and as they say the rest is history.

Jo looked beautiful in her dress which was made by Ilse Roux. Ilse's dresses are made to fit you absolutly perfectly. She makes you feel like a real princess. The reception was held at Rusticana, and even Carl who is a chef at a 5 star restuarant couldn't fault Rusticana on their hospitality and tasty food.

When I first met Alan and Tracy, they told me they wanted a chilled wedding and it was important to them that their guests had an awesome party.

Their wedding was exactly that. They chose Volmoed in the Hemel en Aarde Valley as the venue. It was perfect, everything on one farm. A chapel, a beautiful setting and lots of accomodation so their friends didn't have to drive home. Also they got to share breakfast with everyone in the morning. (I am wondering how many actually made it to breakfast)

All the details were thought out by Alan and Tracy. The decor was fun and bright. They also gave me enough time for their photoshoot. They made sure everyone did not even notice they were away by setting up a miniture golf course, a photobooth and lots of pimms.

Alan and Tracy I hope your photos are just as great as your wedding day was. All the best for your future.
