Handwritten Thanks!

Today I got the loveliest suprise in the post. I got my very first written thank you card and it came all the way from the UK.
Not to say I am not greatful for all the lovely thanks and emails I receive from couples but life has become so fast that we rely only on email, sms and facebook. So it was pretty awesome receiving a pretty pink envelope and knowing someone took the time to write and post a card.
Thanks Jaclyn and Mike, it meant a lot.

Divan & Nelrine

Divan and Nelrine planned their wedding from Pretoria, so I only got to meet them a week before their wedding. I had photographed Divan's cousin, Charlenes wedding last year.
Nelrine was so relaxed, she took everything in her stride even though she did not have any bridesmaids to assist her. She had chosen her 2 brothers to be her sidekicks. Which made for an unusual wedding with 4 guys only in the retinue.
Nelrine looked beautiful, Alma du Preez did her hair and make up and she got dressed in the cottages at Kronenberg, which was also their venue.
It was a beautiful day in Paarl and we all had loads of fun. It was a great "end" to the 2009/10 wedding season.

Kronenburg

I am always asked, what my favourite venues are. To be honest its very hard to choose. In Cape Town we are definitly spoiled for choice. So I thought it would be nice to add a new venue every week to my blog and you can choose for yourself.
This week I will start with Kronenburg just because I am busy editing a wedding I did there 2 weeks ago.
The first photograph has not been edited, and I did not have a tripod. I had guests asking me why I was rolling in the grass. Well this is why ...

My first Blog!

For the last few months, I have felt that I needed to have a Blog.
Even though I am bad at words, and I know its another thing to add to the list of tasks I have to do already, I feel everyone has to keep up with the times and its a great way to show my work and also a great way for my clients to share their photographs with their friends and family, especially for those who are not on Facebook.
So my aim is to add the photographs to my blog and hopefully I will have a few regular visitors.
The crazy thing is I am starting to blog when the wedding season has come to an end so what am I going to blog about???
Its going to be a slow start, but as I am figuering my way around I think its the perfect time to start. Hopefully in 3 months time, when the weddings start coming fast and furious I will be much better at this!
For now please be patient and I hope you will enjoy this and hopefully I will too.
Here are my very first photographs!

Enjoy!
